Here is More Information about Stroll for Your Soul
Stroll for Your Soul is a collaboration between Kereru Publishing in New Zealand and Prayer Bench in Canada. Caroline and Janice explore the unique spirituality of their landscapes from very different parts of the world. Come Stroll with us.
Stroll for Your Soul offers 21 days of accompaniment through a brief email delivered early each morning to your inbox. Each email will offer a reflection, along with a practice, or a poem, or a photograph giving direction and encouragement to your time spent walking or jogging or biking or even skate boarding.
It takes 21 days to create a habit. Use these daily emails as motivation to get out doors or even stroll to a window to notice the outdoors. The daily emails will help you notice the green and growing glories of Spring. If you are a regular walker, they offer reminders to pay attention and be in the present moment.
Each Year a New Theme
Our 2023 theme is ‘Returning to Our Senses’ and it invites us to intentionally use our senses to make sense of the world around us, to invite our Great Creator into our daily lives through sensory actions, and to enjoy and appreciate this Spring season with a sensory lens. Science now tells us there are more than the five senses you learned as a child.
Using Stroll for Your Soul with a Group
When you register a Group for Stroll, you receive a leader leader with suggestions and access to a folder with a poster, sign up sheet, announcement, and icons for use in promoting on social media.
There are many ways to use Stroll as a group and you may want to encourage each member of your group to use the resource in ways that work for them personally. Here are some ideas you may like to share for use with the individuals in your group:
Read Stroll at the start of the day with your morning coffee and take the ideas with you as you go about your regular routines.
Read and view Stroll before purposely going out for a stroll around a park, beach, garden, street, market or other place of your choice, using the ideas in Stroll as starters for your own reflections.
You might like to use a notebook to write down your thoughts or write your own poems or prayers, or take a sketchbook or a camera to record visual images.
Additionally, because you have a Group subscription you may want to come up with ways your Group can interact with each other while using this resource. These include but are not limited to the following:
Plan to meet for a Group Stroll together at a local spot such as a park, beach, track, garden or street.
Meet online once, twice or more during the Stroll period to share your discoveries with each other.
Plan a group worship service together for your community of faith.
