The Prayer of the Night Owl
“I am like an owl of the wilderness
like an owl among the ruins.” - Psalm 102: 6
Wide-Awake God,
staying up late,
looking around with forward-looking eyes see me here now,
nocturnal like you,
of the night.
You turn your seeing to my vulnerability, fiercely protective.
You turn your hearing to my pleas, acutely safe-guarding.
Great Owl of the Night,
companion to my Advent prayers, I rest in your late night Love. Amen
